Should Swimmers Use Steam Room
I am one to enjoy a good workout & also unwind. Question for some beginner swimmers is should swimmers use steam room after a swim workout? And also can you use it before a swim?
To be honest I personally don’t believe that you “HAVE” to use the steam room before or after your workout.
Benefits Using Steam Room Before
The benefits of using the steam room before your swimming workout is that it will help your muscles loosen up & warm up. It is said that it makes your swim much more relaxing, I can say yes it does.
You also are able to clear out your lungs, nose & throat quite easily in the steam room, to assist you with your breathing patterns in the water. Instead of having snot & phlegm coming out of you messing up your breathing patterns.
Using Steam Room After
My personal treat after a hard workout of any sort is to hit the steam room. The benefits on the opposite side of the question should swimmers use steam room is that it helps tremendously with recovery.
Recovery of muscles & clearing of your lungs, nose & throat from the steam room will help you on a day to day bases stay healthy & have quicker muscle recovery for great nights sleep.
Day to Day
Like I said at the beginning there is no right or wrong time to hit the steam room aka (sweat box) because it benefits you either way.
I love to use the steam room as a treat after I am done with my swim but I also use it before the day starts & it is a great start to the day.
Another reason why should swimmers use steam room, helps with the pores in your skin to help you stay smooth & pimple free through the day. LOL.
When using the steam room try to use 8-10mins at a time you will get way too hot & you do not want to dehydrate. Normal steam room temps are at about 113-115 degrees Fahrenheit
